Though ‘excited’ about the recent mega-deal with Anil Ambani, Abhishek Bachchan tells Prithwish Ganguly that acting is his first priority and he is not turning entrepreneur
Even though his dad has created a major buzz in Bollywood with his Rs 150-crore joint venture with Anil Ambani, beta Abhishek Bachchan says that he doesn’t wish to become an entrepreneur right now.
“I will always remain an actor. The deal has nothing to do with me joining business. It is a deal between the companies. We will always be actors, though closely involved with everything,” says Abhishek.
So, as he will be “closely involved” with the production house, we ask him whether they have a ‘concrete’ plan in place with regards to the number of films and serials the house will make in a year. “There are no such concrete plans as of now. We are looking at doing some really good work. The deal is not about how many films we are doing. It is about how many good films we both will do,” the star clarifies.
The deal also has marked a new beginning for Amitabh Bachchan’s AB Corp Limited which was, until recently, in the red. Amitabh Bachchan had said a few days ago though that though his company had been keeping a low-profile lately, it had been making a reasonable profits.
“AB Corp will also be active in providing creative inputs and facilitate operations through our presence in the industry. AB Corp has been active since its inception; we were in the red, but have long since been out of it and have been making reasonable profit,” the Big B had said.
Looking dapper in a suit and a pink shirt, it is obvious that Abhishek still hasn’t got out of the Sarkar Raj mode. We can’t resist asking him how his wife Aishwarya is doing after news broke that she’s got German measles.
“Yes, she was down with measles. She is better now and she will start work from Tuesday,” Abhishek adds. So, by the time you are reading this article, Ash is perhaps getting ready to step out of her house for the first time since she fell ill.
Contrary to media reports, Abhi confirms that he and Ash have agreed to act in Mani Ratnam’s next film. “Yes, Aishwarya and I are both definitely doing the film. But it is too premature to talk about the plot,” is all he says before signing off.
