A meeting with the UK PM, a great boyfriend and her maiden production set to roll—the star has much to celebrate, writes Shubha Shetty-Saha
Towards the end of this month, Shilpa Shetty will be flying to London, which has almost become her second home now, this time to receive the prestigious Global Cultural Diversity Award. “Yes, I will be receiving this award. I will be going to London to receive it. I feel very honoured, especially after I heard that last year Jackie Chan was the recipient of this award,” Shilpa says.
Is it true that she will be visiting 10, Downing Street after that? “Yes, as a part of this ceremony, I will be meeting British Prime Minister Gordon Brown at his residence,” she says.
There is something else that Shilpa will be doing in London a little later. She will be participating in the Bachchans’ worldwide show ‘Unforgettables’ for its two segments that will be held in UK. “I hope Unforgettables becomes more unforgettable with me being a part of it,” she says amidst giggles. “Actually, the show is fabulous with me or without me. It is great to be part of one of the most talked about shows. Sharing stage space with Mr Bachchan was good enough for me to say yes. I love Shiamak’s (Davar) work. I have a good base in London. So it makes sense for me to be a part of the show in London.”
Right now, Shilpa is busy with her banner S2 Global Productions. “This is my baby. I am loving it. I love the song and dance routine. My films should be commercially viable and entertaining. My first film is an action comedy directed by Manish Jha.” Shilpa also says she has no time to tie the knot with boyfriend, Raj Kundra. “As of now, there is no question of marriage. As much as I wish to, I can’t because I have too much on my plate. I am a practical person. Till my first production is released, I can’t even think about it.”
