What was two-time National Award winner Shobana doing at the music launch of Priyadarshan’s latest movie Mere Baap Pehle Aap (MBPA) where ironically the main actor Paresh Rawal was conspicuous by his absence? Well, she turned up at the event, only after almost all the star invitees including Akshaye Khanna had left. Incidentally Shobana, who won the National Award for her lead role in the south movie Manichitaratazhu (the original version of Vidya Balan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyya) is these days rarely seen in movies. The charming actor also won the National Award for her role in Mitr - My Friend directed by Revathy. The danseuse-model denied speculations that she had discreetly tied the knot with buddy Rahul Mehra.
“Those rumours are all false. In any case, my dance concerts and my dance academy have literally kept me on my toes. Besides there is this classical dance show on the lines of Broadway that I am planning, with which I am actively involved. In the midst of all this I snatched time to shoot for Priyan’s movie. Although it’s a hilarious father-son comedy, where I play Paresh’s nubile lady-love, I am the only ‘serious’ character in the ensemble,” laughs Shobana.
