Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya and Abhishek, along with of course Amar Singh (all pictured), have been camping in Cannes since May 14,  just to give bahu Aishwarya company. Aishwarya has been invited for the festival as she is the ambassador of a cosmetic company.

On the first day of the festival (May 14), it is reported that the Bachchan family accompanied Ash on the red carpet but they were not photographed as the local media did not recognise them. This according to sources, irritated the Bachchans to no end. Looks like the media realised its folly as on later dates, the entire family was photographed (Abhishek with Ash on May 15 and Amitabh, Abhishek and Jaya on May 17).

Apart from the mandatory red carpet, the Bachchan family is not taking part in any of the Indian events that are happening in Cannes. They were not even present for the Hinduja party that was thrown in honour of Dev Anand.

However, the party turned out to be quite a success. The lunch party was held at an exclusive hill top villa, one of the palatial homes of the Hindujas. Poonam Dhillon, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Ketan Mehta, Anand Mahendroo, Piyush Pandey and Sudhir Mishra were present at the event.

Srichand Hinduja was personally looking after Devsaab’s needs, filling his plate and introducing him to the new dishes that he was not familiar with.
