Phoenix planning a move to music now
Saturday, May 10, 2008 15:09 [IST]

London: Joaquin Phoenix, the Oscar nominated actor of "Walk the Line", is planning to move to music after he discovered his musical abilities while acting in the movie.

Phoenix won a Grammy award for his work on the movie's soundtrack, reports contactmusic.com. "Walk the Line" was a chronicle of country music legend Johnny Cash's life.

The actor is presently working on an album with the British group The Charlatans. According to the group's lead singer Tim Burgess, Phoenix is a perfectionist.

He said: "Once he learned to play the guitar he found that he had quite a lot of demons inside himself that he wanted to expel through music. All the tracks that me and (Charlatan's manager) Alan (MCGee) worked with him on were brilliant. But he just kept scrapping everything or redoing everything. I'm trying to get Alan to force him to put it out."
