Thanks to the ongoing cricket mania, the actor’s comeback vehicle Unchuii has been postponed

The IPL matches, which has hijacked TRPs from prime time television shows has now started to affect the soap projects that are in the pipeline.

The latest to join in the list of casualties is actor Niki Aneja’s comeback vehicle Unchuii.

The actor, who was popularly known as the Madhuri Dixit of tellyland, was last seen in Astitva. She has shifted base to London after her marriage. Now a mother of twins, she was supposed to start shooting for the show by March-end this year. However, due to the ongoing IPL, the project has been delayed for a ‘few months’.

 Director Ajai Sinha confirms, “Yes, we have delayed the shooting of Unchuii for a few months because of the ongoing cricket fever,” he says.

So, what is Niki’s reaction to the decision? “She is quite cool with the decision. We all are professionals and we understand the situation. She is in London with her family and definitely not in a hurry,” he adds.

Ajai maintains that the cricket craze has affected the entertainment industry, including his other show Ghar Ek Sapna.

“It’s tough competition and we have to make our product really enticing for the viewer,” Ajai says.
