London: Popular talk show host Oprah Winfrey rubbished reports that pop star Mariah Carey's wedding to singer-actor Nick Cannon was a last-minute affair by revealing that the singer had her married name tattooed on her neck last month.

Carey and Cannon tied the knot early this month.

Winfrey also added that she regrets not thinking there could have been more when she saw Cannon backstage with Carey when the singer appeared on her show to promote her new album E=MC2, contactmusic.com reports.

Winfrey had been introduced to Cannon by Carey, but she did not think anything of his presence or of her guest's new tattoo.

She said: "She'd done the tattoo on her back that said `Mrs. Cannon', so they were already planning on doing it (getting married)."
