Actor Hrishitaa Bhatt says that her studies had taken her away from Bollywood for the last two years

After almost two years Hrishitaa Bhatt is back in the circuit. She has managed to bag a few ‘good films’ — one opposite Manoj Bajpai and the other opposite Mithun Chakraborty — and says the genre that excites her most is comedy.

“Of all the genres, comedy is something that I love doing the most,” the svelte actress said, adding, “I’m a person who loves to make other people laugh even if I’m playing the fool. I love bringing a smile to the face of my family members and also people whom I do not know.”

According to her, there are few people in her world who can make her laugh, “In life you get many people who can bring tears to your eyes and make you sad but you can barely count those who can make you smile and I would like to be the one who can make someone happy.”

And of course, Hrishitaa is kicked up about her two forthcoming releases Juggad (with Manoj Bajpai) and Don Muthuswami (with Mithun).

She then goes on to explain her characters in the film.

“I play very diverse characters in the film. In Juggad I play the role of Manoj’s wife — a strong hearted woman who is the support system for Manoj when he goes through crisis after Delhi MCD officials seal his office. In Don Muthuswami I play the daughter of Mithun Chakraborty, who is a don. I’m spoilt in the film, loud, stubborn, boisterous and over the top. My father wants to change me but I simply would not give in,” she said.

But why was Hrishitaa missing for these two years? “Oh I was busy with my studies. Fortunately everything fell into place and here I’m,” she added.

With Hrishitaa in a very good mood, we thought of probing if she would be comfortable with some ‘bold’ questions. So, girl tell us what’s your take on shedding your clothes and getting steamy on camera?

“Hmm. That’s thought provoking. I would do it if the script demands it but I would have to be very sure about the person who is doing the film.”

And item numbers?

“I think people remember the songs more than they remember the movie. It’s the songs that stay on your lips and check out you’ll find so many memorable item numbers. So, I don’t have any issues with them. Would love to do it any day but again I would be careful on how it is being done.”
