Shah Rukh’s ‘wax’ed again
Tuesday, April 29, 2008 03:16 [IST]

shahlargeHours before the unveiling of his wax statue in Paris, Shah Rukh Khan spoke to Shilpa Jamkhandikar in London about how he is longing to get back in town to cheer for his team

He’s been all over the place recently —whether it is playing quiz show host,
performing at the Zee Cine Awards and of course, cheering his team, the Kolkata Knight Riders at the IPL matches. But Shah Rukh Khan says it’s the last part that he is missing the most these days.

The King Khan, who is in Paris now for the unveiling of his statue in the Grevin
museum says he cant wait to get back to Kolkata and cheer his own team.

“I am leaving immediately after the unveiling ceremony on Monday night, because I have to be there for the next match,” he told After Hrs in London, just after he received the Best Actor award for Chak De India at the Zee Cine Awards.

When asked what he felt about his statue being unveiled at yet another wax museum, he said “I don’t think it’s a personal achievement, it’s a sign that people are watching a lot of Bollywood movies across the world. It’s a sign that we are going global in a big way and no one can really stop us now.”

There is  certainly no stopping the King Khan, as is obvious by the way the man is moving. “I arrived in London early on Saturday morning, practiced for my act and performed last Saturday night. I am leaving from London and going to Paris to attend the ceremony there.

From there I will leave for Kolkata immediately. After that I will return to Mumbai for the shooting of Paanchvi Paas. I can’t afford to take a break right now, because there are a lot of things happening,” he explained his choc-a-bloc schedule.

“But I do believe that I got this (points to the award in his hand) because I worked hard for it. So I am not really complaining. After all, not everyone is as lucky,” he ended. We couldn’t agree more.
