New York: Singer Ashlee Simpson sidestepped a question about her pregnancy on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show".

Intouchweekly.hollywood.com reports that DeGeneres directly asked Simpson, "Are you or are you not pregnant?" Simpson replied, "Well, that has been going on for quite a while. That is something that I choose to personally not discuss."

Simpson then stood up and asked the audience, "Do I look like I had 10 cheeseburgers or something? Because I don't think I do!"

Simpson then went on to promise to tell DeGeneres if she really was pregnant and not do what Christina Aguilera or Jennifer Lopez did when they did not confirm till their pregnancy was too obvious.

She said: "I swear. I promise you that."
