Sandhya Mridul  who emerged as the ‘dark-horse’ runner-up in the dance reality TV show Jhalak Dikhlaja has worn her dancing shoes once again. This time she has participated in yet another reality show Ustadon Ka Ustaad with her partner-choreographer Javed.
Was this foray to keep her dancing talent alive?

 

“Not really, I have been performing at live shows in various parts of the world right from Canada to Jordan with amazing responses. I just wanted to participate again. Besides, I was looking forward to meeting buddy Shweta Salve and Varun Badola, with whom I had lost touch since ages. It was a trip down memory lane,” insisted Sandhya who has refused quite a few item numbers for Bollywood.

Ask her why is she refusing item numbers and pat comes the reply.
“Well, lets face it, I don’t wish to be tagged as an item-dancer, because I am an actor first, dancing is an added quality. Unless the song is out-of-this world and the stakes really excite me, I am not game,” said Sandhya.

Incidentally, in her next movie, Sandhya is portraying the role of a bar dancer.
“In the movie Chowky, being financed by Bunty Walia, I am playing the lead role of a bar-dancer,” added the actor.

Sandhya will shortly start shooting for her next movie Zindabad produced by Anubhav (Cash) Sinha ,where she will be working with the likes of Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher.

“All I can say is that it’s a freak-out comedy and audience will get to watch a hidden, hilarious dimension of Sandhya,” she signed off with a hint of suspense.
