London: British rock band Coldplay has reassured fans that they would not ditch their trademark soaring choruses in their upcoming album.

Thesun.co.uk reports that the band has taken a new direction musically with producer Brian Eno. But lead singer Chris Martin has promised fans that the music is still the same.

He said: "We're still obsessed with making songs that can be sung to the rafters. We just wanted to present them differently." The new album is titled "Viva La Vida" and will be released June 16.
