amritarao_01If you want to impress actress Amrita Rao, you have to strike the right chord the first time you happen to meet her, accidentally or otherwise.

And if you are wondering how we got this piece of information, you have the svelte actress to thank! During a casual conversation, Amrita told us she believes in love at first sight.

“I strongly believe in the idea of first love,” she said, adding, “I love first things — first day at work, first day at college, first film release and obviously falling in love for the first time no matter what the outcome of the relationship is.”

But when we asked Amrita when she fell in love for the first time, she came up with an answer that she experienced the bliss when she had a particular ice-cream flavour. Now isn’t that diplomatic? Love with an ice-cream?

Anyways, we thought of probing her more on her recent reported link-up with Goher Mumtaz, a member of the Pakistani band Jal. Again, we were greeted with a plain answer. “I had a great time working with the entire band, it was really memorable and though we shot a romantic video, the romance was for the video only.”

Ok, this lady might not be in a mood to give us some spicy quotable quotes but she is surely spicing up the silver screen with her recent all-glam avatar in films like My Name is Anthony Gonsalves and also in a music video for Jal band’s new album Boondh - A Drop of Jal.

“It is not about shedding my earlier goody-goody image and building a new one,” she said.

She says that glam roles are happening to her accidentally, “I’m just trying to experiment with roles. It is very important to do different things and the glamourous image is only due to the opportunities I’m getting.”

Amrita is currently shooting for Shyam Benegal’s comedy Mahadev Ka Sajjanpur and she was truck full of praises for both Benegal and Shreyas Talpade, who plays the lead role in the film.

“Working with Benegalji is such an honour,” she said, adding, “You get to learn so much by seeing him at work and working with him. Shreyas is fun to work with too; he has terrific intensity and enthusiasm.”
