London: Legendary director William Wyler's son David wants to remake his father's multi Oscar winning movie "Ben-Hur" as a TV mini-series.

He made the announcement just days after the movie's star Charleston Heston died.

Contactmusic.com reports David as saying: "In my mind this is dedicated to my dad and Chuck (Heston). We think it's a great way to keep his memory alive."

He added that the mini-series will be very different from the movie. "It's been 50 years since my father's version and we think we can bring something new and contemporary to it in the same way that 'Gladiator' did for that genre."
