poonam_01Poonam Dhillon talks about her transition from a heroine to a mother

Poonam Dhillon just cannot sit idle for a long time. She is back with a bang after a gap of almost five years in films with meaty roles.

“I am glad that at last filmmakers have started considering me for mature roles which I could not do during my Noorie days when I was bracketed as just a good looking heroine. I have just completed shooting for not just one but two films. One of them is called Sab Khairiyat for a producer down South.” The film is directed by Vikram in two languages — Tamil and Hindi, the film has R. Madhavan in the main romantic lead with Neetu Chandra. Poonam who plays the role of Madhavan’s mother in the film says that she had toned down the glamour quotient to get into the skin of her character and do justice to her role as Madhavan’s mother in the film.

The other film in which Poonam has been cast once again as a mother is being directed by Aneez Bazmee with Sanjay Kapoor as the producer.

“It is a family drama in which I play the mother of Harman Baweja. It is a romantic family drama which revolves around the problems faced by the youth today. I have been cast in the film opposite Nana Patekar,” the actress said.
Harman and Genelia D’Souza have been teamed together in this as yet untitled film.

Poonam says that she is now ready to accept more films and continue her second innings in tinsel town. “Why just a mother, today I am ready to take up even romantic roles with ease,” she signed off.
