London: Actress Thandie Newton, a friend of pop superstar Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie, has refuted rumours about problems in their married life and said they were "having a good time".

Contactmusic.com reports that Newton is defending the couple saying the relationship is "all good". Rumours of problems were triggered when Ritchie was conspicuously absent at Madonna's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.

She said: "They're having a good time, as far as I know! I went to their house in the country - it's lovely. It's good! I just saw them the other day - they're having a great time. "Oh, he's (Ritchie's) lovely! He's a lovely, lovely, lovely man! Awesome - he's just like - sort of perfect!"

Newton worked in Ritchie's latest film "RocknRolla".
