Mills' lawyer unhappy with London court treatment
Thursday, March 20, 2008 14:44 [IST]

New York: Gloria Allred, the attorney for Heather Mills, is upset with the way the London courts treated her client in the divorce battle with Beatles legend Paul McCartney.

Pagesix.com reports that Allred criticised Judge Hugh Bennett's decision in the case where he calls Mills a "less than impressive witness" who gave "inconsistent and inaccurate but also less than candid" evidence.

Allred said: "I think it was an unnecessary personal attack, especially because the court knew he was making it public and that one day Heather's little girl would learn about this attack on her mother."

Allred also believes people have not been told the whole truth. She added: "This was very unfair because the judge would not release the transcripts (of court proceedings) so the public could see for themselves what evidence Heather presented and how professional and courteous she was in the courtroom."

She did not comment on reports that Mills poured water on McCartney's lawyer's head, but only said: "Divorce is very painful and emotional, especially when there is a disproportionate balance of power. Heather was very courageous to have fought her legal battle by herself."
