Mumbai: Ayub Memboob Khan, son of legendary filmmaker Mehboob Khan, died Friday at his residence here, family members said Saturday.

Khan died in his Bandra house in north-west Mumbai.

Though his father had made a few path-breaking movies like "Mother India" and "Aurat", Khan had no interest in movies and preferred to keep himself away from the film industry.

Ayub Khan was a trustee of the Mehboob Studio at Bandra, founded by Mehboob Khan in late 1940s. It was managed by a family trust.
