New York: Comic actor Eddie Murphy is not getting involved in the life of the child he had with Spice Girls' Melanie Brown as he allegedly feels the singer tricked him into it.

But Mel B's lawyer Gloria Allred believes that Murphy's refusal to meet his daughter Angel was "inexcusable", pagesix.com reports.

Allred didn't comment on a report in which Murphy claims Mel had told him she was on birth control pills.

"I think it's sad and inexcusable that Mr. Murphy chooses to punish his baby by refusing to visit her or be involved emotionally or in person in her life. It's shocking that he continues to refuse to be involved with his daughter and that he has intentionally missed the precious first year of her innocent life," the lawyer said.
