Bangalore: Sudeep starrer Gooli is scheduled to release later this month, much to the delight of his fans who are looking for another action flick from him.

The year 2006 proved to be lucky for the actor with My Autograph and Hubli becoming hits. However, he couldn't repeat the same success story last year and therefore has no expectations from Gooli.

Gooli is produced by Ramu Enterprises, a banner known for making big-budget entertainers.

Director P. Sathya, who had a string of hits like Majestick, Daasa and Shashtri with Darshan, is working with Sudeep for the first time.

Sathya has also penned the story and screenplay. Debutant composer Anoop scores the music for the film, which is already popular among music buffs.

Mamta Mohandas, who has acted in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil films, plays the lead and this is her first Kannada film.

Mamta, who went to college in Bangalore, is happy for this break in Kannada cinema. Although Sathya refuses to reveal the story, he says the title role is tailor-made for Sudeep.

The title, which means Raging Bull, has negative overtones, which, according to some, may embarrass Sudeep's female fans.

However, Sathya disagrees. He says: "The film is not a complete action film. Action is part of the story line. The film has an excellent family angle as well."

Sudeep claims that if the film had focused only on action, he would not have accepted the role.
