Madurai: Tax concessions could not be given to films with Tamil titles if the names tarnished or destroyed the language itself , Tamil Nadu government said here.

An official release said that the objective of giving tax concession to films was to promote the use of Tamil language. It is an incentive , the release said.

But some of the titles of recent films did not serve the objective.

"Films carrying such titles would not be defenitely given tax concessions", the release said.
