Friday, February 29, 2008 04:56 [IST]

sameerareddyAfter portraying serious roles like the ones in the award-winning Kaal Purush and Taxi No 9211, Sameera Reddy has taken off on a funny tangent.

This time she has “bizarre” romantic scenes with co-star Paresh Rawal in a Kumar Mangat comedy titled One Two Three. The film is by directed by Ashwani Dhir (writer of the TV show Office Office) and co-produced by Eros.

“There’s a crazy situation where Paresh is trying to sell me some male undergarments while I am convincing him to buy a new car. I am playing a corporate car showroom sales executive who sheds her formal jacket when she has to use her ‘oomph’ to allure customers,” said Sameera, adding, “This buy-buy persuasive pitch goes on throughout the movie. There is this Gupchup song situation where I am seducing Paresh. Everytime I am cornering him, he is shying away from me.”

Sameera confesses to being a huge fan of the movie Munnabhai MBBS, “When I saw the movie, I was wondering why I was not doing such movies and getting into a typecast. I decided that comedy is just right for me.”

The actor is playing the filmy avataar of the famous TV sleuth  Karamchand’s Kitty in Abbas-Mustan’s fast-paced thriller Race.

Talking about the character, she revealed, “My character Lovely is as dim-witted as Kitty and she asks moronic questions to Anil Kapoor who is like Karamchand. In a multi-starrer movie which has Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif, my character makes a ‘dumb-belle’ impact.”
