Some arrests are impending…how do you view the present scenario?
I think the day the so-called ‘non-Mumbaiites’ were attacked was one of the darkest days of my life.

What’s your reasoning?
I come from an army background and I can only think in terms of soldiers. Imagine if soldiers started saying that I will only protect this part of the country because I come from that part or that I am not from Maharashtra, so why should I fight for Maharashtra?

It really doesn’t work like that. We can never forget that we are from one country and how can we be petty enough to fight for one area or one region. And to think these things are propagated by someone young and supposedly educated person! This definitely calls for some strict action.
 
What do you think Mumbaiites should do?
It is really difficult to break the spirit of a Mumbaiite. Despite trying conditions like potholes everywhere and far from perfect systems, the Mumbaiite continues doing his work with a smile on his or her face. I am sure this too shall pass and we will go back to being the spirited city that we are.

You’ve just acquired the Mohali cricket Mohali team, what are you planning to do?
I am terribly excited about the whole thing. Believe me or not, but I am not into this for the money, it’s for the game. It has always been my dream to start a sports school. I guess I have fulfilled it in a way by doing this.

But what’s your business strategy?
I don’t understand the crore of rupees involved, though I have invested almost all of my hard-earned money into it. But my instinct told me that this is what I should be doing and I am more than glad to be part of it. Ness and I will be visiting the stadium on Sunday and I can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to this.
