Actor cum anchor Karan Patel’s (Kaho Na Yaar Hai) luck doesn’t seem to be favouring him these days. The actor has been facing a series of setbacks. First, he broke up with his girlfriend actor Amita Chandekar (Kasturi). He then met with an accident while he was riding a bike. And recently, when he was shooting for a scene in Kasturi he burnt his hand.

A member from the unit on conditions of anonymity shares, “Karan (plays Robby) is shown to be paralytic in the show. We were shooting a Lohri party scene, where a piece of coal accidentally flies and falls on Karan. Since Robby is paralytic, he couldn’t protect himself from the flames. And before we could call ‘cut’, Karan’s hand caught fire.”

However, the unit member adds that Karan did not complain about the accident.

“He insists on doing such stunts himself. Earlier too, Karan has performed daring stunts like breaking glass in anger or putting off a burning candle with bare hands. Karan wouldn’t allow the use of a body double.

He had even hurt himself quite severely when he had shot for a fire concert in the same show, which happened some time back. He insisted on doing the scene without even applying the solution, which protects the skin from getting burnt.”

Despite burning his arm, Karan resumed shooting after he received first aid. Karan did not respond to our calls.
