‘Vamps add spice to TV’
Sunday, December 30, 2007 04:17 [IST]

rakshanda2largeSoap seductress Rakshanda Khan defends her home-turf and insists that playing the bad girl is fun

Getting ‘real’
“Reality shows are most certainly not real. They have more drama than a daily soap. But these shows bring out the real side of  the celebrity participants.”

A ‘faint’ chance
“I have never fallen prey to fainting spells. I guess, I am either too strong or not working hard enough.”

 Vamp ‘ire’
“Vamps are the spice on TV, which is otherwise so bland. I think we should let them be.”

Soppy sagas
“The storylines have to be worked upon. Right now, TV is harping on just one kind of programming. It needs to get experimental. I am sure India has the talent to bring out better shows. At the same time, it is very important that the audiences start asking for good shows.”

‘Breaking news’
“News channels have become like soaps— generating exciting content 24x7. However, news channels connect you to the world in minutes. But they stretch news like a chewing gum.”

2007 belonged to…
“It definitely belonged to Gautami Kapoor. She was the most talked and written about when she became Tulsi in ‘Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. I am praying that the coming year belongs to scriptwriters. It is high time we moved on to different shows.”

As told to Sapana Patil Poojary
