Mumbai: Aamir Khan's directorial debut Taare Zameen Par hit the city multiplexes after briefly being stalled over a profit-sharing issue while the fate of Welcome hung in balance.

Taare Zameen Par has been released in all multiplexes as the revenue sharing issue has been resolved.

The film has recorded 85-90 per cent opening at the box office," said a senior official from Aamir Khan productions.

PVR and Studio 18, the distributors of Taare Zameen Par and Welcome respectively had demanded higher revenue shares from multiplexes.

Welcome by Anees Bazmee has not been released in any multiplex as the issue is not yet resolved.

But talks are on for releasing the film in multiplexes located outside Mumbai," CEO, Indian Film Company Sandeep Bhargava, co-distributors of Welcome, said.

"Our demands are justified. The multiplexes paid high share in the past for Om Shanti Om, Chak De India, Tara Rum Pum and other movies. Our movie too is a big project and had already generated lot of excitement. We should get our due," Bhargava said.
