Vijay Anand's family ignored for the IFFI
Wednesday, December 05, 2007 16:32 [IST]

vijayanandVijay Anand, commonly known as Goldie Anand by many, was the director of legendary movies like Nau Do Gyarah, Tere Ghar Ke Saamne, Jewel Thief, and Guide.

International Film Festival of India (IFFI), 2007, had paid tribute to the yesteryear director for his contribution to cinema. However, Vijay Anand’s family was not invited for the event.

Sushma, Vijay Anand’s wife and son Vishal were highly disappointed with IFFI for such behavior. Earlier a similar situation had happened and Sushma ignored it.

However, this time when she heard about the festival she contacted Manoj Shrivastav of the directorate of film festivals requesting that she should be informed of the date of the inauguration.

Dev Anand had been present for the inauguration ceremony that took place earlier, however, this year he could not make it for the opening. But Sushma had got the news too late to make any arrangements to get to the fest.

Such lack of courtesy was not only disappointing but also demeaning.
