Films may come and go, but "Mungaru Male" will remain the topper among Kannada
albums, it seems.
The top five Kannada albums are:
1. "Mungaru Male" - The
film's songs, set to Mano Murthy's music, are on the lips of most Kannada film
fans. "Anisuthidhe yaako einu", "Araluitidhe" and "Mungaru" are so popular that
the audio is selling like hot cakes. The Anand Audio Company has now sold close
to 200,000 CDs.
2. "Duniya" - The film is completing 100 days shortly and
the audio sale has been showing an increasing trend every week. "Kariya, I love
you" is the top song of the album.
3. "Hudugaata" - The success of
"Mungaru Male" has turned actor Ganesh into a new box office star. "Hudugaata",
in which he plays the male lead, is having a good time in the audio market as
well. Jassie Gift, the Malayalam music director of the hugely successful film "4
The People" has retained the tune of "Lajjawati" for the movie.
4.
"Pallakki" - Guru Kiran, who has been having a rough time, can heave a sign of
relief because this audio is doing slightly better than all his other albums.
5. "73, Shanthi Nivasa" - The audio had some good initial sales because
the film is directed by actor Sudeep who had earlier made the hugely successful
"My Autograph" with the same music director (Bharadwaj). In particular, "Geeya
geeya" is popular.
