Being a celebrity’s neighbour may be the claim to fame for many – and a
headache for many others. But when the celebrity is Big B and the time is his
only son’s wedding, the perks definitely outweigh the cons. And who would know
better than the couple running a small tea stall tucked away under a tree near
Prateeksha.
The tea stall that was till date a hub for office labourers and security
watchmen is now abuzz with policemen and fans who drop by for some onion pakodas
and cutting chai. “Business is doing very well. I am happy,” says the shy Prabha
Tawde when probed. She goes around serving tea sprinkled with some sweet talks
to constables who are seen making a beeline for the stall.
Ask her about her views on Aishwarya and Abhishek’s nuptial and she blushes
further. “They are nice. I really like them,” she says with a smile. However,
her husband has different thoughts altogether. “What’s the big deal? If there is
more business, there is also more work. Rather than eyeing the couple, it’s more
entertaining to see the common man on the road. They are the real people,” he
says. And we thought good business always makes people happy!!
