Kannada cinema is providing actress-politician Jayaprada a much-needed break
from her hectic election campaign in Uttar Pradesh.
"I am happy to be back in Kannada films after a gap of nearly
three years," said the Samajwadi Party MP who was here for the launch of "Ee
Bhandhana".
To be produced by Jai Jagadish and directed by his wife
Vijayalakshmi Singh, the film has Vishnuvardhan in the male lead. This is
Jayaprada's third Kannada film with the veteran actor.
Answering a
question, she said: "Playing a role in cinema is far easier than playing a game
on the political turf of UP (Uttar Pradesh)."
She finished the first
day's filming and left for Uttar Pradesh. The actress is expected to resume
shooting after completing her campaigning for the Samajwadi Party.
Asked
whether it is easier to deal with a woman director than a female political
opponent like Mayawati, Jayaprada laughed and remarked: "Don't ask me that
question!"
