The unit of the show ‘Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan’ (Zee), which is generally used to creating drama on screen, witnessed the same on their sets last week. The cast was shooting for a wedding sequence with Romit Raj (Yuvraj) and Jasveer Kaur (Kajari) at Filmcity far away from their usual sets at  Andheri.

Since it was not their usual location for shooting, things were not too well-organised. Some props were kept outside, which caught the eye of two thieves who tried to run away with them late one evening.

Aarif Sheikh, head of production reveals, “We were all present at the site. We were busy carrying out our respective jobs when we heard some chaos. We thought that probably a leopard had attacked someone. When we flashed lights in the direction of the chaos, we saw two men running away with a trunk and some light equipment.” He continues, “Some unit members and I ran towards them. But they had escaped before we could lay our hands on them. They were trespassers and not from our unit. Though we couldn’t catch them, we were lucky that they left our things behind. ”

A unit member reveals that thefts are a common occurrence at Filmcity. “Our complaints are not taken seriously,” he rues. He adds, “The trunk contained expensive costumes, worth approximately Rs 70,000, which were to be used for the wedding sequence. Had they be stolen, we would have to wait for new ones to be designed and re-shoot the entire wedding sequence to match the continuity.”
