Actor Sammir Dattani will now be seen in the youth-centric flick ‘Life Mein Kabhi Kabhie’. Director Vikram Bhatt recalls, “I wasn’t sure whether Sammir would be able to deliver the complex role because of his ‘chocolate boy’ image. But when I narrated the role to him I saw conviction in his eyes.” Sammir too is glad by the feedback he has been receiving. He says, “I’ve waited very long for this . Vikram thinks ‘Life…’ is my re-launch. I worked really hard on perfecting the body language and the dialogues of the young politician that I play in the film.” He adds, “Vikram and I bonded really well, partly because we share the same birthday, and also because he seems to have understood my personality.” What about a chunk of his role in the film being chopped off? “That’s okay. What’s more important is that ‘Life…’ really holds together.” Sammir continues, “There were absolutely no ego hassles among the actors. Dino and Aftab are an integral part of Vikram’s cinema. But I was never made to feel like an outsider. The spirit of camaraderie will show in the film.” Sammir missed having a leading lady in ‘Life…’ though. “We did shoot a romantic portion. But it didn’t gell with my desperately lonely character.”
