What’s it aboutShankar Gowd (Srihari) is one of the dons in Hyderabad. His rival Yadav breaks an agreement . So Shankar kills Yadav’s brother. That sets the drama. Yadav is on the lookout for Shankar’s sister Pooja (Genelia). On other hand, Babloo alias Baddam Srinivas Rao (Vishnu), joins Shankar’s team for livelihood. With his intelligence, Babloo changes the operating style of Shankar. Pooja who feels lonely in their house likes Babloo and soon love blossoms between them. One day they elope and get married in Yadagiri Gutta. What happens then is the rest of the story. Analysis Dhee has interesting script (by Kona Venkat) and director Srinu Vaitla has packaged it so well. In one word, Dhee is highly entertaining and paisa vasool movie thanks to Srinu Vaitla’s knack of mixing subject with comedy. Telling a film entertainingly has been his strength. And this time too he uses it so perfect. His brilliance is visible in presenting Vishnu who has not tasted success yet and has some action image. So Srinu Vatila focuses more on the lighter moments and has given space Vishnu to come up with his own style. In fact the entire first half finishes so fast because of the racy presentation and entertainment. The scenes between Vishnu and Brahmanandam bring the house down. The romance between Vishnu and Genelia is also very well shot. Srihari’s immense screen presence and his don character have given the film more depth. The script has shades of My Date With The President’s Daughter, but the content is also good. Many situations, scenes are not new but they are packaged freshly. Performances For Vishnu, Dhee is really very important film. There is ease and confidence in his performances now. He also does the comedy and dances well. If he sheds some flab, he is here to stay. Genelia once again steals the show with her charming and innocent looks. The chemistry between Vishnu and Genelia is perfect. Srihari as Hyderabad don is right choice. His dialogue delivery and body language is impeccable. Brahmanandam as always hogs the limelight in comedy department. As a soft-accountant called Chari, he evokes laughter throughout the film. The scene where he makes Sunil dance like Mahesh Babu and Hrithik Roshan is highly hilarious. Senior artiste Chandramohan is reliable. What’s hot! Entertainment is what Dhee serves hot. Script, dialogues, comedy scenes between Vishnu and Brahamanadam are some of the scenes that are the film’s strength. Technically too cinematography by Prasad Murella and slick editing by Marthand Venkatesh gives the film gloss look. Srinu Vaitla’s direction is first rate. What’s not? It is pucca commercial film. So all the scenes are created in convenient to in that parameter. Some scenes defy the logic. Chandramohan dreaming of his son’s death is not in good taste. Bottom-line The story is basically cat and mouse game. Such stories always work if they are executed well. Director Srinu Vaitla perfectly mixes with comedy, right songs, and honest performances. It is paisa vasool and time pass film. Dhee really entertains who doesn’t seek enlightenment from films.
