That Sushmita Sen is a doting mother is a known fact and this was only reiterated during Neeta Lulla’s show on Thursday evening when the stylish actor sashayed down the ramp along with daughter Renee in tow. Needless to say, this was the seven and a half year old’s debut on the runway.

An excited Sushmita says, “My daughter has made me extremely proud. It was great moment for me and I’m really glad I walked for Neeta as the show celebrated womanhood, not to mention motherhood.”

While the mother-daughter duo carried themselves with much élan, Sushmita admits that like any other mother, she was nervous about Renee taking to the ramp. “I may have done this for many years now but she’s too young – obviously, I was nervous about her,” she reveals.

That’s not to say that Renee was feeling any goose bumps. “Renee was not at all anxious; in fact, that made me more nervous,” she laughs.

So, does she want Renee to follow in her footsteps. “It’s still too early to say and we all know what kids are like – one day she wants to be an airhostess and the next day she wants to become a doctor. At this stage, what’s most important is her education,” she says, implying that Renee’s presence on the ramp was a one-off thing.

Ask her about the man in her life and she says, “I’m sorry, I don’t think I can answer that question in front of my daughter.”
